atelier mimosa – art et apparat

A graduate of the Ecole Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Tours with a CAP Art du Bijou, Julie Mansillon is a visual artist and jewelry designer. Since 2018, she has been based in a studio open to the public in Chinon’s historic center, l’atelier mimosa – art et apparat, a creative and exhibition space dedicated to contemporary art and adornment. She creates ornaments and objets d’art, unique pieces resulting from experimentation and hybridization of materials, particularly neglected and unappreciated ones.
Alongside her work in her studio, she has been teaching volume, composition and jewelry design at the Institut de Bijouterie de Saumur since 2023. She also offers artistic interventions to a variety of audiences: apprentices at the Lycée Agricole de Fondettes, residents of the EHPAD des Groussins in Chinon, the inhabitants of La Riche…
She was regional winner of the Ateliers d’Art de France design competition in 2023, as well as of the Mon Beau Déchet design competition during France Design Week in 2021.
Several of her works have joined the collections of the Pôle Musées de la Communauté de Communes de Chinon Vienne et Loire, and can be seen on the permanent tour of the Musée du Véron.
